Another Successful Graduation at The McKenna Academy

Another Successful Graduation at The McKenna Academy

Congratulation to Jim Shanahan, everyone at The Father McKenna Center and this year’s group of eight volunteers (including Founders Bank CEO, Martin McCarthy) who helped with another successful graduating class of The McKenna Academy.  This program supports men who seek to take the next step on their journey to end a cycle of homelessness, obtain stable housing and reclaim their lives.

This six-month, five-day-a-week program provides case management support, educational assistance and job placement resources.  Training for life skills, including healthy living and financial literacy, is at the heart of the program, and requires devoted mentors to help guide these men through the latter stages of the program.

In the words of Martin McCarthy, “It was truly fulfilling to volunteer as a mentor in this year’s cohort, and am excited to do more, having recently joined McKenna’s Board of Directors.”
