Huma Onorato Appointed to ABA Emerging Leaders Council

Washington DC, November 18, 2025 – Huma Onorato, Senior Vice President and Director of Deposit Operations of Founders Bank in Washington DC, has been appointed to the American Bankers Association’s Emerging Leaders Council as the representative for the District of Columbia for the 2025-2026 association year.

The Council is focused on identifying, connecting, developing, and engaging, the current and next generation of bankers to lead our industry, guiding ABA in the creation of new opportunities in leadership development, networking, advocacy, financial literacy, and industry promotion.  Council members help guide ABA in creating new opportunities to engage emerging leaders in ABA programming and advocacy to continue their development as bankers and leaders.

Huma has over 20 years of banking experience with a focus on commercial deposits, bank operations and treasury management services. She is a graduate of George Mason University where she earned a BA in Finance and Financial Management Services and attended the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management.

“It’s an honor to be appointed to this council and to work with my peers on increasing collaboration across our banks and create more opportunities for the next generation of banking leaders,” said Onorato. “My participation will allow me to engage with up-and-coming leaders in the banking industry and help develop solutions that will better meet the needs of our customers and the broader economy.”
